    Arthur Werner

    Arthur Joseph Werner, JD, MS (Taxation), received his B.S. in Accounting and his M.S. in Taxation from Widener University. He holds a J.D. in Law from the Delaware Law School. His lecture topic specialties extensively include the areas of Estate Planning, Financial Planning, and Estate and Gift Taxation to Certified Public Accountants, Enrolled Agents, Attorneys, Insurance Agents, and Financial Planners, and has presented well in excess of 2500 eight-hour seminars over the past 25 years as well as numerous webinars and video presentations. Mr. Werner has been rated as having the highest speaker knowledge in his home state of Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was also awarded the AICPA Outstanding Discussion Leader Award in the State of Nevada, the Florida Institute of CPAs Outstanding Discussion Leader Award, and the South Carolina Association of CPAs Outstanding Discussion Leader Award.

    Robert S Keebler

    Robert S. Keebler, CPA/PFS, MST, AEP (Distinguished), CGMA is a partner with Keebler & Associates, LLP, and the current chairman of the AICPA Advanced Estate Planning Conference.

    In 2007 he was inducted into the Estate Planning Hall of Fame of the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. CPA Magazine has also named him one of the top 100 most influential practitioners in the United States and one of the top 40 tax advisors to know during a recession. His practice includes family wealth transfer and preservation planning, charitable giving, retirement distribution planning, and estate administration. Mr. Keebler frequently represents clients before the National Office of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in the private letter ruling process and estate, gift, and income tax examinations and appeals. He has received more than 200 favorable private letter rulings, including several key rulings of “first impression.” He is the author of over 100 articles and columns and is the editor, author, or co-author of many books and treatises on wealth transfer and taxation. Mr. Keebler has been a speaker at national estate planning and tax seminars for over 20 years, including the AICPA’s: Estate Planning, High Income, Advanced Financial Planning Conferences, ABA Conferences, NAPEC Conferences, The Notre Dame Estate Planning Conference, and the Heckerling Estate Planning Institute. He also served as chair of the AICPA’s Advanced Estate Planning Conference from 2014-2020.

    Nick Preusch

    Nick Preusch’s primary focus is performing tax services for high wealth individuals and mid-to-large business entities. Nick’s responsibilities include tax research related to complex business transactions and tax return preparation and review. He also works closely with businesses and individuals to find tax efficiencies through ever-changing tax legislation. He was also an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) attorney at the IRS National Office in Washington, DC, where he was the lead attorney for several significant tax ethics cases.

    Patrick McCormick

    Patrick McCormick is a Principal attorney in Offit Kurman’s Business Law & Transactions group, focusing his practice entirely on international tax matters. Mr. McCormick represents both business and individual clients on all aspects of United States international tax rules, both from an income tax and estate/gift tax perspective. Mr. McCormick has worked with clients in over 80 countries on American tax considerations of multinational activities, cultivating specialized knowledge in every area of United States multinational tax rules. His narrow focus has facilitated expertise in the field, trusted by clients and advisors around the world to obtain optimal results on international tax matters. Mr. McCormick is regarded as a primary and prolific authority on American-side international tax matters.

    Larry Heinkel

    Mr. Heinkel has degrees in accounting, law and a master’s in tax law (LL.M.) (all with honors) and has been published in the Notre Dame Law Journal, the Journal of Real Estate Taxation, and The Florida Bar Journal among others. Mr. Heinkel is a nationally-known expert on tax procedures and resolution, representing people literally all over the world. Further, he is also probably one of the very top experts in discharging taxes in bankruptcy and has presented boot camps, seminars, webinars and other presentations and on this and resolution-related topics around the country. He also graciously makes himself available to consult with other professionals around the country, usually free of charge. Mr. Heinkel is also the creator of the Tax Discharge Determinator (www.TaxDischargeDeterminator.com) – the only on-line program designed to determine the earliest discharge date – accurately, quickly, and economically.

    Adam Fayne

    Adam S. Fayne is a partner with Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP, where he assists companies and individuals, nationally and internationally, on corporate and tax issues. As a corporate attorney, Mr. Fayne routinely advises management or in-house general counsel on various legal matters affecting their day-to-day corporate activities. His experience includes handling matters involving mergers and acquisitions, employment, compliance, litigation, personal injury, vendor contract review and negotiations, employment benefits, financing, real estate and many other issues. Mr. Fayne helps businesses and individuals with tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service and tax planning, both domestically and internationally. He also handles a variety of white collar criminal matters, both federal and state particularly involving civil and criminal tax fraud, including tax evasion, money laundering and offshore tax compliance. Mr. Fayne‘s knowledge of tax law is informed by his former role as a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the Department of Treasury Internal Revenue Service.     Greg White, CPA, taught for 14 years as an adjunct professor for Golden Gate University. He’s admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court. He is a founder and shareholder, in WGN PS in Seattle, WA. He has been named a Top 50 IRS Representation Practitioner in the U.S. by CPA Magazine and has taught for a number of professional organizations.     Dale A. Walters

    Dale is the Director of Canada-U.S. Tax Services at BeachFleischman, Arizona’s largest locally owned CPA firm.

    Dale is a licensed certified public accountant and has earned the personal financial specialist designation. Dale was one of the few people that earned the Certified Financial Planner™ designation in both the U.S. and Canada. Due to the fact he no longer provides financial planning services, Dale voluntarily relinquished his CFP® designations in 2022.

    Dale has over forty years of experience in the financial industry and 28 years as a cross-border tax and planning specialist.  He has been a frequent speaker on U.S.-Canada financial planning and tax related issues, and is the author of Buying Real Estate in the US – The Concise Guide for Canadians and is the co-author of Taxation of Canadians in America: Are YOU at risk? and Taxation of Americans in Canada: Are YOU at risk?

    Having owned and run many businesses over many years, including KeatsConnelly, which was the largest Canada-U.S. wealth management firm in North America. Dale led KeatsConnelly to several significant awards including; Ethics, Volunteerism, Company Culture, Workplace Flexibility, being named Top CPA/financial planning firm in the U.S., all of which led to being named one of Arizona’s Most Admired Companies in 2011, 2012 and 2013, as well as being named one of the “100 Top Arizona Businesses” in 2012. In 2016, Dale sold his shares of KeatsConnelly and shortly thereafter began working for BeachFleischman.

    Dale is a former NCAA Division I collegiate wrestler, four-time World Heavyweight Karate Champion, fourth-degree black belt in Judo and a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga. Dale married Charlene, his college sweetheart, and they have been together for 46 years and married for 41 years. In their spare time, Dale and Charlene enjoy traveling the world.

    David Peters

    David Peters is the Founder and Owner of Peters Professional Education (petersprofessionaleducation.com) and Peters Tax Preparation & Consulting, PC. He is also a financial advisor for CFO Capital Management. David has over fifteen years of experience in financial services, including 3 years in the hedge fund industry and six years in the insurance industry. David was the first-ever Chief Financial Officer at Compare.com - a position he held for more than three years.

    In addition to running his own professional education website,  David regularly teaches courses in accounting, finance, insurance, financial planning, and ethics throughout the United States. David holds four masters degrees, and is currently pursuing his PhD in Financial Planning.     Jennifer Kowal

    Jennifer Kowal, JD, has been a tax professor and the director of the graduate tax program at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles since 2003. Loyola’s graduate tax program offers an LL.M. in Taxation for attorneys and a Master in Tax Law for non-lawyers. Professor Kowal teaches courses in advanced income taxation, income tax timing issues, corporate taxation, and tax research, among others. Prior to teaching at Loyola, Professor Kowal taught in the International Tax Program at Harvard Law School.

    She also practiced law with the firms of Irell & Manella in Los Angeles and Ropes & Gray in Boston, advising clients on the taxation of various business transactions, including cross-border, partnership and corporate structures. Professor Kowal holds a BS in Accounting with distinction from the University of Kansas, and a JD from UCLA School of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif.

    Robert “Bob” W. Jamison

    Robert “Bob” W. Jamison, CPA, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus of Accounting at Indiana University, Purdue University, Indianapolis (IUPUI). His principal area of specialization is S Corporations. He is the sole author of S Corporation Taxation, and co-author of Multistate Tax Guide to Pass-Through Entities.  He is the author of the 2022 edition of Essentials of Federal Income Taxation.

    Bob is a well-known author and speaker on S Corporations. He presents advanced and updated S Corporation seminars for various states’ CPA societies and other professional organizations. Additionally, he consults on S corporation and other business entity problems and has secured private letter rulings from the IRS on behalf of clients.

    Charles K. Montecino

    Charles K. Montecino, is the owner of Tax Problems Solved, LLC. As a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Tax Resolution Specialist, he has significant experience in helping clients solve their IRS problems, and clients say he does it with patience and, as one client put it, “without making me feel dumb.” In 2008 he received the Top Practitioner Award from the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers.

    He works with taxpayers that for various reasons find themselves at odds with the Internal Revenue Service. He regularly works with those that have unfiled returns, unpaid balances, payroll tax issues, innocent and injured spouse issues and those under audit.

    He has spent his 40 plus years career in public accounting, and over 35 of them running his own firm He has been specializing in tax resolution for over 20 years. He is a licensed CPA in New Jersey and in addition is a CGMA, Chartered Global Management Accountant. He serves on the Cooperation with IRS Committee with the New Jersey Society of CPAs. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, New Jersey Society of CPAs.

    He earned his accounting degree from Rutgers University. When he is not working, he enjoys watching the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles and the Rutgers University football team. He also enjoys golfing. fishing, traveling, woodworking, reading and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

    Shelli Huston

    Shelli Huston, CPA, MS is an Oregon native. She attended Warner Pacific College where she received a Bachelors in Business with an Emphasis in Accounting. After obtaining her CPA's license, she continued on to Golden Gate University where she received her Master's Degree in Taxation.

    Shelli worked in a small tax firm for many years. In 2006, she opened up her own tax and accounting firm. She has watched her business grow and expand to include teaching and writing. Shelli has over 20 years of experience in personal, business, estate, trust, and gift taxation, as well as QuickBooks and payroll. She enjoys working with clients of all types and small businesses, especially new businesses.

    Shelli is passionate about the importance of being the best professionals we can be. This profession comes with an inherent integrity that takes work to uphold.     Patrick A Haggerty

    Pat Haggerty is a tax practitioner, author, and educator. His work experience includes non-profit organization management, banking, manufacturing accounting, and tax practice. He began teaching accounting at the college level in 1988.  He is licensed as an Enrolled Agent by the U. S. Treasury to represent taxpayers at all administrative levels of the IRS and is a Certified Management Accountant.  He has written numerous articles and a monthly question and answer column for payroll publications. In addition, he regularly develops and presents webinars and presentations on a variety of topics including Payroll tax issues, FLSA compliance, and information return reporting.

    Kelen Camehl

    Kelen is a recognized author and reviewer of CPE courses and has authored over 145 courses (350+ CPE credit hours) covering a range of accounting, auditing, financial reporting, regulatory, and ethics topics.  His courses are available for purchase from many online CPE providers including the AICPA.  Kelen remained involved in CPA exam content development for nearly 10 years and authored more than a thousand multiple choice questions for various sections of the CPA exam.  He also serves as an Editorial Advisor for the AICPA’s "Journal of Accountancy".

    Kelen has nearly 20 years of progressive finance and accounting experience. He currently serves as a Principal in Accounting Policy with HP.  Prior to HP, he served in multiple accounting roles in the oil & gas industry with ConocoPhillips including technical accounting policy, SOX compliance, and internal audit. He also gained public accounting experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers, working with various clients in the energy, electric, power, gas, and utility sectors.

    Jim Buttonow

    Jim Buttonow, CPA, CITP, has been a leader in helping taxpayers and tax professionals resolve tax problems with the IRS.   

    For 19 years, Jim worked at the IRS in various compliance enforcement positions.  Since 2006, Jim has been in private practice and tax and accounting software development.  Jim consulting practice focuses on the areas of tax controversy and tax administration. Jim led product development and marketing for a successful software company that developed tax problem software for tax professionals.  This software is currently being used by tens of thousands of tax professionals and businesses in the United States.

    Jim has been an IRS partner in improving IRS operations and post-filing service to taxpayers.  Jim served as chairperson of the IRS Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee (ETAAC) in 2015 and 2016 during which ETAAC played a central role in promoting the IRS digital strategy to develop transformative technology solutions to systemic challenges in tax administration.   Jim also served as the North Carolina representative on the IRS’ Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP) from 2020-2022.

    Jim regularly speaks on areas of tax administration and problem solving to national associations and has testified before Congress in areas of tax administration.  He has also published many articles in industry publications.  In his articles, Jim focuses on delivering practical insights, advocating for IRS transparency and efficiency, and proposing innovative large-scale solutions for taxpayers and tax professionals.  

    Jim currently authors CCH’s Tax Problems and Solutions Handbook, a publication aimed at helping tax pros work more effectively in post-filing matters and resolving their clients’ most common tax problems.

    Alfred Page

    Alfred Page Jr. is a Senior Stakeholder Liaison with the Internal Revenue Service. He is responsible for performing outreach and education to industry, association, and tax practitioner partners regarding resources, guidance, and authoritative information available at IRS. Prior to his role as Stakeholder Liaison, he served as a Tax Law Specialist in the Exempt Organization business unit. He is classified as a subject matter expert in tax exempt organizations, specifically 501(c)(7) organizations, and Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT). 

    Al has served as a full-time and an adjunct Accounting and Para-legal professor for over 27 years at various colleges in Maryland.  He has also served in various accounting and tax management and executive positions in non-profit and private financial institutions.  He is a CPA with the State of Maryland and has litigated a variety of legal and tax issues. He earned a Juris Doctor and Master of Science in Finance from University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Towson University.

    Anika Pompey

    Anika Pompey is a Senior Stakeholder Liaison with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in Washington, DC.  As a Stakeholder Liaison, she is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with tax practitioners, business and industry organizations, and other audiences for the purpose of providing education and outreach on IRS policies, practices, and procedures.

    Prior to becoming a Senior Stakeholder Liaison, Anika held the position of Tax Compliance Officer (TCO). In this role, she planned and conducted examinations of individual income tax returns. She was also responsible for educating taxpayers about tax law and tax-related accounting.  Anika held the position of TCO for 7 years before becoming the frontline manager of a TCO group. Anika has also held the position of Contact Representative where she was responsible for assisting customers with their tax accounts. Overall, Anika’s IRS career spans more than 17 years.

    Robert Feenan

    Three years after joining Fischer Cunnane in 2015, Rob was named a Shareholder. He brings 16 years of prior experience working for multinational and regional accounting firms, including serving as a tax consultant with KPMG for five years.

    Mary Jane Hourani

    Mary Jane has been practicing since 1993, working for a couple larger Tax, Accounting, & Audit Firms in before transitioning to her own practice in 2005.

    Mary Jane has a Master of Management from Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration as well as a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Michigan University in Public Administration with a focus in Organizational Development and Governmental Accounting.

    She is credentialed as an Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent, allowing her to practice before the IRS. With this credential, she has direct oversite by the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility. She is also a National Association of Enrolled Agents NTPI Fellow.

    Mary Jane has been an Instructor of Tax for Michigan State University Tax School since 2008 as well as a speaker for several trade organizations since 2005.

    Mary Jane has been a Contributing Editor and Contributing Author of the National Tax Workbook for the Land Grand University Tax Education Foundation since 2009. She writes and compiles tax course packs used by Michigan State University Tax School and other trade organizations. She is a former H&R Block Instructor/Trainer.

    Mary Jane is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of Tax Professionals, American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, and is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

    Jessica L. Jeane

    Jessica L. Jeane is the deputy editor in chief for Tax Analysts’ Tax Notes State, which provides tax professionals digital and print expert commentary on state and local tax (SALT) policy, litigation, and legislation. Over the last decade, Jessica has served in various tax editorial leadership and executive roles. She began her career in the tax editorial space while both writing on and editing SALT and federal tax policy developments for Bloomberg BNA and Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting (CCH). Before joining Tax Analysts, Jessica was the acting CEO for a national organization for tax professionals where she was instrumental in leading its nonpartisan policy agendas, education, and advocacy efforts. Jessica found her passion for tax law during her extensive work in a Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, where she represented taxpayers in a wide range of controversy matters before the IRS.

    Jessica currently serves as vice chair of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation’s Individual and Family Taxation Committee, planning conference sessions and speaking regularly on issues taxpayers face while navigating the Internal Revenue Code. Jessica holds a J.D., cum laude, from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, and a B.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park.

    Donna K Olheiser

    Donna K Olheiser, AAP, is the vice president of Education Services and founder of Dynamic Mastership, LLC.; and holds the Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) designation (achieved in 2004). She is an enthusiastic and energetic Certified Master Trainer with over 14 years’ training experience. She has designed and facilitated over 100 training sessions each year with her expertise being the rules for companies and financial institutions when processing electronic (specifically ACH) payments, then scheduling the events to facilitate and deliver the material through a variety of venues (webinars, teleseminars, in-person workshops, including regional and national conferences).

    Her extensive knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for transferring payment processing knowledge using the adult learning theory is remarkable and has helped many payment professionals perform daily operational tasks including exception processing while remaining compliant with the NACHA Operating Rules. She uses scenarios and examples to bring the learning home, easy to comprehend and apply to real-life day-to-day ACH processing.     Donna has over 24 years of experience in the financial services industry which includes 9 years’ experience as the education service director at a Regional Payments Association (RPA), where she managed and facilitated the entire education program for nearly 800 financial institution members. Prior to that, Ms. Olheiser spent 14 years in various departments with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, including the internal educator for FedACH Central Operations.

    Julie Manasfi

    Julie Manasfi received a J.D. and LLM in taxation from New York University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science with an accounting minor from the University of California, Los Angeles. She has a long history with LLS as she was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Taxation from 2008-2010, a Visiting Professor from 2019-2022 and an Adjunct Professor from 2022 to 2024. She was a tenured Professor of Law at the University of La Verne College of Law and an Associate Professor at Whittier Law School. Professor Manasfi's service experience there includes chairing key law school committees such as strategic planning, admissions, diversity and appointments. Her teaching experience includes Corporate Tax, Federal Income Tax, Tax Practice, Federal Income Taxation of Trusts and Estates, International Tax, Business Tax Intensive, Contracts, 1L Values & Skills, Property, Business Organizations, Sales, and Transactional Document Drafting.

    Professor Manasfi co-created the asynchronous LLS courses in Corporate Taxation I/II and International Taxation I/II. Her practice experience includes being an associate in Sidley Austin LLP's Tax Group in Los Angeles, an associate in White & Case's Tax Group in New York and a partner in Best Best & Krieger LLP's Business Services Practice Group in Los Angeles advising on a broad range of federal and state income taxation matters. She is licensed to practice in California and New York.

    Steven G. Siegel

    Steve Siegel is president of The Siegel Group, a Morristown, New Jersey-based national consulting firm specializing in tax consulting, estate planning and advising family business owners and entrepreneurs. He holds a B.S. from Georgetown University, a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University.

    Mr. Siegel is the author of several books, including the Grantor Trust Answer Book published by Wolters Kluwer, and is a nationally-recognized writer and speaker who has lectured extensively throughout the United States on tax, business and estate planning topics. Mr. Siegel has served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Alabama Law School Graduate Tax Program and at Seton Hall and Rutgers University law schools.

    Craig Gordon

    Craig Gordon created the innovative financial research firm, Blueshift Research, that generates ideas for clients from a proprietary “pattern mining” approach.  Gordon also founded Off The Record Research, one of the first “sell side” companies to utilize market research in the investment field. Gordon was a partner at RCM Capital Management, where he created Grass Roots Research, the first survey group started on the “buy-side” of the market.

    Gordon taught as a Professor of Business at Golden Gate University and UC Berkeley. Most recently he served as an Executive-In-Residence and Professor of Practice in the Marketing Department at Lehigh University.

    Gordon is a noted academic author within the field of market research in the financial industry. Among his numerous academic articles published on market research, “Going Off the Record with Reg FD” closely examined and outlined how to use market research within Regulation Fair Disclosure guidelines. Gordon holds a BS in Accounting from Lehigh University and a Masters degree in Public and Private Management from Yale University.
